Sewerby Hall is situated 2 miles north of the seaside resort of Bridlington, on the East Yorkshire coast. The grade I listed country house is set in 50 acres of landscaped gardens in a cliff top location on the outskirts of Sewerby village.
The house was built 1714-1720 by John Graeme. Bow wings and a portico were added in 1808-1811. Later additions include an Orangery and dining room.
The first floor room was given over to Amy Johnson memorabilia in 1959. This collection was a gift from Amy’s father in October 1958, and consists of various souvenirs and mementoes presented to Amy and her husband, Jim Mollison. Since then, additional material received from other sources has further enhanced the Amy Johnson Collection.
