St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church

The beautiful soaring spire of St Peter and St Paul’s leads the way to this magnificent church which is otherwise hidden by the surrounding cluster of cottages and shops. Of Norman origin, the church was enlarged and enhanced in the fifteenth century. Also of fifteenth century origins are the remarkable mediaeval wall paintings, one of the most complete sets in Britain. The font is thought to be of Saxon origin, and the pulpit made by Hepplewhite, the famous 18th century cabinet maker.
