Hartlepool Museum

The Museum of Hartlepool is housed in a purpose-built building adjacent to Hartlepool Historic Quay and form part of Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience. The displays take the visitor from the earliest beginnings, following the last Ice Age, with examples from Seaton Carew’s submerged forest, through medieval times when Hartlepool was an important religious centre, to the 19thC, and Hartlepool’s industrial history including shipbuilding, steelworks and fishing. Attractions to watch out for are the lighthouse light, full-size fishing boat, interactive displays, display showing coastal wildlife and PSS Wingfield Castle.
